A longarm quilting machine is designed specifically for quilting large projects. Unlike a standard sewing machine, a longarm machine has an extended frame and larger workspace, allowing quilts of all sizes to be quilted smoothly and efficiently. This makes it possible to create beautiful, consistent stitching patterns across your entire quilt.

I load your quilt onto the longarm machine and carefully stitch the quilt top, batting, and backing together.

Your finished quilt is returned to you, ready for binding and the final finishing touches.
Prep Your Project
Preparing Your Project
To ensure the best quilting results, please prepare your project using the following guidelines before delivery:
- Backing & Batting: Ensure your backing and batting are 4-8 inches longer and wider (all sides) than your quilt top.
- Squared Up: Ensure both the quilt top and backing are squared up with straight, even edges.
- Pressed Flat: Press all seams flat. Press your quilt top seams to one side or open.
- Trim Your Threads: Clip any loose threads on the front and back of your quilt top.
- Orientation: If directional, pin a note marking the "TOP" of both pieces.
Shop Notice & Handoff
Please note the $50.00 minimum quilting charge per order. Money Saving Tip: If you have multiple small items, I can place them together on the same backing fabric a few inches apart.

- Mail-in Clients: Package safely and ship it to the address provided.

How to Pack & Ship
Shipping Your Quilt
Sending your quilt top through the mail is safe and easy! I recommend USPS Priority Mail for excellent value and reliability. It includes free boxes, tracking, and up to $100 insurance. I will also provide a pre-paid shipping label if requested.
Shipping via USPS Priority Mail, there are two pricing options:
Flat Rate Shipping – Use USPS-provided Flat Rate boxes or envelopes for a fixed shipping cost (recommended).
Weight & Distance Shipping – Use your own packaging, and rates are calculated based on package weight and destination.
Flat Rate options typically range from approximately $12–$34, depending on the packaging selected and current USPS rates.
Step 1 & 2: Protect & Package
Place your quilt in a waterproof plastic bag first—this is essential protection! This can be a ziplock bag or even a garbage bag for larger items. Then choose a sturdy box or padded envelope; Priority Mail mailers/boxes are available free at your local post office!
Steps 3-5: Info, Seal & Track
Include your contact details inside including name, phone, email address, and name of quilt/project so I can easily match it up with your form. Securely tape all seams. Once shipped, please send me your tracking number so I can monitor the arrival of your treasure.

Whether you're shipping from down the road or across the country, your creation will be handled with the same care and attention I would give my own. If you have any questions about packaging, shipping options, or insurance, I'm always happy to help.
Note: A small return shipping fee will be added to your final invoice at the lowest available carrier rate. Free shipping on orders over $300!
Disclaimer: Your work of art will be shipped back once payment is received. While I take great care of your quilt while it is in my studio and return all items via insured USPS Priority Mail, Star Stitchery Studio LLC is not responsible for loss or damage occurring during shipping.
